Joep van Rhijn
Trumpet player, teacher, composer, arranger
Joep van Rhijn is born in 1984 in a small village called Noordbroek in the north of The Netherlands. He started playing trumpet at the age of eight. During a high school exchange program in the United States Joep got interested in jazz music. After returning to The Netherlands Joep started studying jazz trumpet (with Kurt Weiss and Brian Lynch) at the Prince Claus Conservatory in Groningen. In June 2007 he graduated. Joep has experience with many different kinds of music. He play(ed) in: small jazz ensembles, big bands, musical productions, salsa bands, symphony orchestra?s, funk bands and pop bands. Joep is also busy with arranging and composing his own music. In 2008 Joep studied one year composition and arranging at the Amsterdam school of music.
